The modern transformation currently witnessed in the tax administration of Edo State, has been attributed to the inspired transformational leadership of the executive Chairman of the Edo State Internal Revenue Service (EIRS).
The Executive Director in the agency, Hon. (Barr) john Obazee made the remark when he received the Productivity Order of Merit Award in view of her contribution to the development of Edo State conferred on the EIRS as a corporate body during the 2014 Edo State productivity Award Day in Benin City.
Hon. Obazee noted that the achievements of the revenue agency was made possible by the State Governor Comrade Adams Oshiomhole who has provided the conducive environment which he said has helped in achieving the current feat in the state tax system.
He assured that the state government would continue to utilize the tax payers’ money effectively and efficiently for the betterment of the people.
The Executive Director pointed out that the leadership quality as provided by the Chief Oseni Elamah led revenue agency has helped in building a viable revenue institution in the state.
He said the agency is going through series of transformation, adding that the award was a wakeup call for the EIRS in the drive forwards ensuring productivity in the revenue generation.
He commended the management staff and members of staff of the EIRS for their unalloyed diligence to duties, thanking the organizers for choosing the EIRS out of the numerous corporate organizations in the state for the prestigious award.
