Edo State Internal Revenue Service (EIRS), has cautioned Revenue Scratch Card Dealers who engage in sharp practices, asking them to desist and also monitor their agents for effective service delivery.
EIRS, in a press statement made available to the press, stated that it had observed that some revenue scratch card dealers engaged the services of transport unions for the purpose of selling revenue scratch cards to commercial transport operators.
Frowning at this development, EIRS stated that it had been observed that some revenue scratch card dealers, through unions, prevented authorized dealers from retailing their purchased cards to commercial transport operators.
The revenue service cautioned revenue scratch card dealers, stating their duties, which are to sell cards to commercial transport and haulage operators. It nonetheless noted that, that should not be mistaken as a contract to collect revenue.
EIRS said authorized revenue collectors were to collect revenue by imputing the codes on scratch cards purchased by each operators from dealers to generate revenue electronically.
