IGR: Edo IRS Bags The Revenue Magazine Double Awards

The Edo State Internal Revenue Service was on Monday, 25th November honored with an award by the Revenue Magazine.

The award is in recognition of the Service’s track records and excellent performance in internally generated revenue collection for year end 2023.

Presenting the Excellence in IGR Award 2024 and the Achievement in IGR Award 2024 to the EIRS, the Chief Executive Officer and Publisher of The Revenue Magazine, Mr. Frederick Apeji stated that the EIRS maintained the 5th position in the IGR ranking of States in the Federation (6th when Abuja is included) and consistently remained amongst the top ten States. According to Mr. Apeji, “In the last twelve years, Edo has maintained a consistent trend and remained one of the top ten States as far as IGR is concerned.

“When compared to other States in the ranking, Edo shows to be doing something different because it doesn’t have the numerous industries that other States in the South-South regions have.

“This trend and feat achieved by Edo should be sustained and l congratulate the EIRS management for it.

Responding after receiving the award on behalf of the Revenue Service, Secretary to the Revenue Service, Mrs Sadat Abu FCA, FCTI appreciated The Revenue Magazine team for the recognition. She stated: ” The records are not fictional but a reality. They are genuine because they are from the Joint Tax Board (JTB) and the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS).

“The Award received today is dedicated to the entire EIRS Staff who made it possible, a morale booster that will spur us to do more and even surpass our current target.”

Present at the award presentation were top management staff of the EIRS.
