This is to inform the general public particularly Road Transport Workers, Commercial Drivers, Okada Riders, Market Traders, Community Development Associations that furtherance of Edo State Government’s vow to end the notorious ticketing and extortion of the innocent members of the public, has banned all form of illegal collections perpetuated under the guise of ticketing across the state.
For the avoidance of doubt, all such activities by anybody, group, associations, unions, revenue contractors engaged either by Local Governments or State are warned to henceforth desist from such illegal collection and ticketing.
Please note that Akugbe Ventures who hitherto collects data & taxes on behalf of the Board of Internal Revenue is hereby prohibited from such collection henceforth.
Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria (RTEAN), Edo State Drivers welfare Scheme (EDWS), Market Traders/Unions or any group are prohibited from collecting any form of dues from their members on the road as such collection on the road are illegal.
All eligible taxpayers are hereby advised to visit the Edo State Internal Revenue Service tax offices to file their returns, be assessed to tax and pay their taxes into the designated state internally Generated Revenue Bank accounts.
The general Public is hereby warned that anybody who is in breach of the Taxes and Levies Act shall be dealt with in accordance with the extant Laws.
