Chairman, Taskforce on IGR Commends Support of Edo State Judiciary, Strengthens Collaboration on Revenue Administration

Chairman, Taskforce on Internally Generated Revenue, Edo State Internal Revenue Service, Hon. John Osagie Inegbedion FCA, FCTI, has commended Edo State Judiciary for it’s role in the support of an effective and efficient revenue administration system in Edo State.

Hon. Inegbedion made the commendation when he led the management team of EIRS on a courtesy visit to congratulate Hon. Justice Daniel I. Okungbowa on his recent confirmation and subsequent swearing in as Chief Judge of Edo State.

During the visit, Hon. Inegbedion expressed his appreciation to the Edo State Judiciary for its cooperation and collaboration with the EIRS in implementing various initiatives to improve revenue generation in the state. He highlighted the importance of a strong revenue administration system in ensuring sustained development and growth in the state.

According to Inegbedion:
“We want to congratulate the Chief Judge of Edo State on his well deserved swearing and to appreciate the support from the judiciary in the performance of our function as a Service and in the management of revenue in the state.”

The revenue chief noted the support gotten from the Judiciary has been enormous and has assisted the EIRS in the adjudication of tax matters both for the Service and taxpayers.

Inegbedion, sued for more collaboration and support from the judiciary to enable it further enhance the effectiveness, efficiency of revenue administration and to achieve its expected goals and objectives.

In his response, Hon. Justice
Daniel I. Okungbowa, expressed his gratitude for the visit and the goodwill massage from Hon. Inegbedion and his team.
He acknowledged the importance of a strong and sustainable revenue administration system as well as reiterated the judiciary’s commitment to supporting revenue generation efforts in the state.
