The Executive Chairman, Edo State Internal Revenue Service (EIRS), Chief Oseni Elamah has described as novel, the employment of over 160 erstwhile Edo YES staff into the State Internal Revenue Service by the state governor, Comrade Adams Aliu Oshiomhole.
Addressing the staff as part of the orientation process, Chief Elamah said their employment was part of the celebration of seven years of unprecedented development in Edo State and enjoined them to redouble their efforts towards aggressive revenue generation.
Chief Elamah said the former YES staff had gone through series of training, even in ICT skills, to enhancing their performance on the job, as well as efficient service delivery.
He stated that a conducive atmosphere has been created and facilities provided to drive human capacity building needed for the growth of the economy of the State.
Elamah expressed satisfaction over boost in revenue generation, assuring the people of Edo State that projects started by the present administration would be completed before its tenure expires.
He also enjoined the new staff to put in their best, as plans have been put in place to incentivise staff as a way of motivating them.
The new staff appreciated the Comrade Governor for matching his promise with action and pledged their loyalty to the administration.
Meanwhile, the EIRS boss said that the state governor, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole has delivered beyond the peoples’ expectations, describing the governor’s success in the past seven years as an accomplishment of his electioneering promises to the people.
Chief Elamah made the remark during a chat with newsmen on the 7th anniversary of the administration in the state.
He said governor Oshiomhole had, during his inaugural speech promised to redeem the people of Edo State from the shackles of bad governance led by the previous administration in the state, adding that he (governor Oshiomhole) has laid a solid foundation in the state by putting the necessary pillars in place for the purpose of taking the state to an enviable height.
“As we celebrate this 7th anniversary, he will carefully carve the diamond that will be put on the crown of success such that will make Edolites walk head above shoulders wherever they find themselves because we have taken our pride of place in the committee of nations” stated Chief Elamah.
