Last weekend, management of Edo State Internal Revenue Service (EIRS) recognized and presented awards to some heads of ministries, government organizations and individuals, recognizing the awardees as revenue ambassadors.

The recognition was made during the presentation of award plaques to recipients at the EIRS’ January 2023 Management Performance Review Meeting and Award Ceremony.

Presenting the awards, Hon. John Osagie Inegbedion, Chairman, Taskforce on IGR, stated:“These ministries and individuals have been very supportive, their performance were extraordinary and from the figures, we can see how well they have grown. Your dedication and leadership, led to those astronomical growth.

“Special recognition goes to the heads of the organizations particularly Isoken Omo, the Hon. Commissioner for Physical Planning, Housing, Urban and Regional Development, who came in to transform that ministry. Her push, drive, and commitment, translated to the ministry’s high revenue numbers.”

Other recipients of the Revenue Ambassadors Award were the Ministries of Finance, Budget, Economic Planning and Development, Environment and Sustainability, Agriculture and Food Security, Office of the Accountant General and Edo State High Court. While individual awards went to members of the Taskforce on IGR which includes Sarah Esangbedo Ajose Adeogun, Special Adviser to Governor Godwin Obaseki on Project Monitoring, Isaac Ebewele and Samuel Elili.
