Executive Chairman, the Edo State Internal Revenue Service (EIRS), Otunba (Hon.) Oladele Bankole-Balogun, Esq., ACTI, has credited the ongoing developmental strides of the Governor Okpebholo-led administration to the consistent support of Edo citizens and their commitment to tax obligations.
Hon. Bankole-Balogun shared these insights during the 2026 “Run/Walk4Justice” initiative, organized by Eghobamien & Eghobamien in association with Perchstone & Graeys.
Representative of the Executive Chairman at the event and Head of Corporate Communications, Mr. Courage Eboigbe, addressed this year’s theme, “Advancing Tax Knowledge and Education Among Nigerian Citizens.” He emphasized that under the Nigerian Tax Administration Act 2025, it is obligatory for all individuals, business owners, and employees to register as a taxpayer, obtain a Tax ID and file their individual tax returns annually on or before March 31st.

Commending taxpayers in Edo State for their level of compliance, Mr. Eboigbe assured the public of the government’s judicious utilization of revenue. He noted that the impact of generated revenue is clearly visible through various projects spanning all three senatorial districts of the state.
