A thanksgiving mass has been held to mark the birthday ceremony of the Executive Chairman of the Edo State Internal Revenue Service (EIRS), Chief (Sir) Oseni Elamah, amidst top government officials, staff of the EIRS, business associates, fiends and well wishers in attendance.

 

In his message during the mass service which took place at Government House Chapel, Rev. Farther Andrew Obiyan, said the journey of life is not always a bed of roses, neither is it an uninterrupted throne of peace and tranquility, stressing the need for everyone to always appreciate God at every point in life.

 

According to him, “when you complain for just no cause, God will give you the cause to complain. And they now started recording misfortune and death; they now have due cause to complain”.

 

The cleric described Chief Elamah as a man, whose level of commitment and dedication cannot be judged, urging him not to fall under the impression of man.

 

He pointed out that the faith of a true Christian was not determined by the cross/titles he or she bears but “that which has the fear of God, giving and pursuing God’s glory as well as loving neighbors.”

 

The clergy man however urged the celebrant to continue to renew his commitment to God and seek the precedence of Christian love wherever he might be.

 

The celebrant, Chief Elamah prayed God to continue to grant him good health, peace of mind as well as make him a blessing to others in the society.

 

The Executive Directors of the EIRS, Barr. Emmanuel Usoh, Hon. Barr John Obazee and Prince Felix Isuku in their separate interviews showered encomium on the EIRS boss whom they described as a man of knowledge. Wealth of experience which he has brought to bear in the revenue administration in Edo State.

 

Meanwhile, the Executive Chairman of EIRS has attributed the success of the revenue administration in the state to the cooperation, support and tem work of the staff.

 

He made the remark after cutting his birthday cake to mark his birthday during a reception in Benin City.

 

Chief Elamah  who stated that the occasion afforded staff the opportunity to socialize in a relaxed atmosphere accorded with the core values of the EIRS, said “ I am privileged  to be able to work with a group of people that have become pioneers of the legacy of the Comrade Governor Adams Oshiomhole will bequeath to the people.”
