Executive Chairman, Edo State Internal Revenue Service (EIRS) Igbinidu Inneh has said that the Revenue Service is set to launch the Edo State Riders’ Permit as part of strategies to ensure a secured and safer roads for motorist particularly motorcycle and tricycle riders in Edo.

Inneh stated this when he played host to Corp Commander Henry Benamaisia the new Edo State Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corp RS 5.1.

He informed that as part of the State’s efforts at addressing issues of security, the Rider’s Permit when launched, will reduce offshoot of crime and insecurity in Edo.

Highlighting the importance of the permit, the EIRS boss said, the rider stand to benefit more as there is a health insurance scheme for the rider and passenger in any eventuality of accident resulting in injury, permanent disability or death.

He said the automation process of the Motor Vehicle Administration is now live and has equally eliminated touting in the system particularly, in areas of verifying third party insurance policy verification, registration, renewal of vehicle particulars and driver’s licence.

Earlier, Corp Commander Benamaisia said in recognition of the role the EIRS play as a strategic partner in the realization of the command’s objective, he deemed it necessary to visit the Executive Chairman and his team at the EIRS Corporate Head Office.
