Arisco International Hotel located at Plot 18, Edo Textile Mill Road, Benin City has been sealed off by the Edo State Internal Revenue Service for failure to remit its consumption tax to Edo State Government.
The Edo State High Court Order authorizing the sealing of the business premises was effected by the pursuant to an ex-parte motion filed with Suit Number B/RC/605/2016 by the Edo State Board of Internal Revenue against Arisco International Hotel.
Speaking with the Director, Tax Enforcement, Mr. Okube Victor on reasons for sealing the hotel, he stated that “when the Board of Internal Revenue checked its records, it was found that the hotel owed the Edo State Government consumption tax amounting to ten million, two hundred and thirty-three thousand naira (N10, 233, 300) prompted a Court’s Order authorizing the seal -off of the premises.
He however stated that the EIRS would unseal the hotel as soon as payments are made
