Hon. Eribo further informed the
Committee of the impressive revenue achievements by the EIRS, which recorded an average of N10 billion in January and N33.8 billion in the last four months (Q1 and April). These milestones according to Eribo showcase the ongoing efforts by the EIRS’ responsibility to bolster the State’s economic framework and help the State government achieve its objective through optimizing internally generated revenue (IGR).

The visiting team was however apprised of some challenges with recommendations currently faced by the EIRS which includes non-compliance with remittance of expatriate quota, PAYE taxes by the Federal agency (IPPIS), and inadequate supply of number plates from the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) amongst others.

Earlier, the Committee Team Lead, Mr. Daniel Ikara noted that the primary objectives of the visit were to drive the implementation of previously established resolutions, assess progress made by State governments in averting economic downturns, facilitate a peer review among States, and identify challenges that may require the Federal Government’s intervention.
