The Edo State Internal Revenue Service and the University of Benin have reaffirmed commitment towards the strengthening the cooperation/mutual relationship that has existed between them in the past.
Speaking during a courtesy call on executive chairman EIRS, Chief Oseni Elamah by the management staff of the University of Benin, Chief Elamah, said as major taxpayers in the state, who decided to visit the revenue agency was an indication that the EIRS was fulfilling its objective of creating a tax-friendly environment.
Chief Elamah acknowledged the mutual relationship which existed between the bodies under the leadership of the former Vice Chancellor of the institution Prof. Osayuki Oshodi.
This, he said, informed the EIRS commencement of the Tax Identification Number (TIN) registration with the institution.
He said the EIRS also offers free advice to people on tax related issues, especially in the area of filling annual tax returns.
He stated further that the visit would afford the opportunity to consolidate on the existing relationship/cooperation between the EIRS and UNIBEN.
Chief Elamah assured the visitors of the EIRS continuous partnership and urged them to always reach out to the agency on area needing support.
Earlier, the Vice Chancellor University of Benin, Prof. F.F.O. Orumwense said they were on a visit to sue for continuous cooperation between the EIRS and the university.
He, however, described as cordial the existing relationship between them in the past.
