The Acting Executive Chairman, Edo State Internal Revenue Service (EIRS), Barr. Emmanuel Usoh has expressed sadness that the Nigeria nation which prides itself significantly among the comity of nations was rather a consuming nation instead of being productive.

Barr. Usoh made the remark when he played host to the President and executives of the Junior Chamber International (JCI) Nigeria, Benin Metro in Benin City.

While noting that Africa was currently facing certain challenges, Usoh stressed the need for human capital development maintaining that once the human capital is developed, other ingredients of the economy will fall in shape.

He said despite the dark moment currently faced in Nigeria as a result of the oil/foreign reserve which he said was depleting, Edo State would continue to strive towards ensuring even governance and participation.

Earlier, the President of the Junior Chamber International (JCI), Benin Metro, Barr. Kingsley Imobekhai described JCI as a leadership training organization aimed at ensuring positive change in the society.

Barr. Kingsley Imobekhai who outlined some of the training programmes facilitated by the JCI to include training on parliamentary procedures said they were at the EIRS to acquaint the Acting Executive Chairman with the organization’s forthcoming South-South/South-East Conference.

The JCI President, who acknowledged the infrastructural development of Edo State, said the Benin Metro deemed it fit to host this year’s conference in the state because of the enabling infrastructural environment put in place by the present administration.
