The outgone Executive Chairman of EIRS, Otunba Hon. Oladele Bankole-Balogun Esq, ACTI, has implored Management and Staff of EIRS to give their full support to the incoming leadership.
Hon Oladele made the appeal during a parting meeting with EIRS staff on Thursday, March 12, 2026, where he announced his official resignation and the subsequent leadership transition of the EIRS Board, as approved by His Excellency, Senator Monday Okpebholo.
Hon. Bankole-Balogun praised the EIRS staff for their role andĀ dedication at ensuring that the administration of Senator Monday Okpebholo achieves its SHINE agenda.
According to Bankole-Balogun,
“I’m extremely happy to be here this morning to say goodbye. We have a fantastic organization, and you are wonderful people doing a great job for this state. I want to implore you to continue in that vein, always thinking of our future and of Edo State. After this meeting, I will no longer be your Chairman, but there is a fantastic individual, a professional, an experienced accountant and tax administrator who is level-headed, and with whom you will find it a joy to work with than you did with me.”
While noting some reforms undertaken during his time in office, Hon. Oladele recalled a significant milestone achieved under his leadership with the support of the staff. Notably, the attainment of a historical record of over N100 billion in Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) in the state’s history. This he said has enabled the State to strengthen its fiscal independence and the capacity to fund His Excellency’s fantastic projects under the SHINE agenda.
In their separate remarks, the Executive Directors (Other Revenue & MDA Services) Hon. (Sir) Michael Ohio-Ezomo FCTI, KSC; Hon. (Engr) Jackson Eribo, ACTI; the Secretary to the Revenue Service, Mrs. Osariemen Ogedegbe FCTI CNA; and the Head of Corporate Communications, Mr. Courage Eboigbe ANIPR, MNIM, ACTI all expressed their profoundĀ appreciation to Hon. Oladele for his leadership and recorded successes, and promised to sustain the progress made. They wished him the very best in his next political journey.
