Edo State Internal Revenue Service, EIRS says it will partner with the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (CITN) to deepen tax education through sensitization and enlightenment of taxpayers and the general public in the state.

The Executive Chairman made this known when he received newly elected executive members of the tax institute, Benin and District Society led by the deputy chairman Felix Ahonsi Esq.

The EIRS boss Igbinidu Inneh, represented at the familiarization visit by the Executive Director Income Tax, Prince Felix Abubakar Isuku promised to support the institute through partnership with the tax institute to educate the public on taxation.

He charged the State Chairman and the new Executives of CITN to uphold the values for which the institute is known for.

Earlier, Chairman, CITN, Benin and District Society, Festus Edogiawere Esq represented by the Deputy Chairman, Felix Ahonsi Esq., informed the EIRS boss that the institute was at the EIRS Corporate Head Office to intimate the Service of the coming on board, newly elected executive members and plans put in place to be executed which include a tax education program and series of training programmes scheduled for 31st July, 2021.

He solicited for the collaboration and support of the revenue service which he said, is a major projector of the tax profession.

Ahonsi further appreciated EIRS for its efforts at scaling up the state’s internally generated revenue as well as steps taken towards ensuring the continuous training and retraining of its staff on taxation.
