As part of efforts at strengthening the revenue generation system in Edo State, through information communication technology, a three-day training workshop on website management has been held for staff of the Edo State Internal Revenue Service (EIRS)
The training was aimed at educating as well as ensuring good information/communication flow, with a view to meeting the expectation of taxpayers.
The workshop which took place at the board room of the EIRS, New Lagos Road, Benin City had participants drawn from the Media/Corporate Affairs and Information Communication Technology units of the EIRS.
Facilitators at the workshop, Hussein Oshiobugie and Bruno Otakhogbogie, both of Husstorm Technology Limited took the participants through the various theoretical, practical and effective usage of website management, social media platforms and mobile application.
Addressing newsmen, the Head, Media/Corporate Affairs of the EIRS, Mr. Courage Eboigbe described the training as a welcome development and germane to the communication strategy of the EIRS.
Courage said the EIRS, being a revenue generation agency of government, was premised on the culture of making taxpayers, whom he described as the kings to be able to remit their taxes, and assess good service delivery in such a seamless/stress free atmosphere.
He assured that the EIRS would not only be the beneficiary of the training but also the taxpayers.
