The annual Executive Management Retreat of the Edo State Internal Revenue Service has been held in Benin City.
The retreat is for the purpose of reviewing activities of the revenue agency during the period under review, device new strategies as well as project into the future.
Addressing the management team, the EIRS boss reaffirmed his commitment to repositioning the agency so as to regularly renew the strength of the human capital development in terms of modern training and ICT skills.
“We have gone beyond the learning curve; looking back at what has been done, one would say that our efforts have not been in vain,” stated the EIRS boss.
According to him, “today, we are coming out with winning strategies that will be anchored on transparency, accountability and value for taxpayers’ money”.
He said that in the course of putting in place such strategies that would further help accelerate and enhance the operational activities of the agency, there was need to take into account the taxpayers whom he described as major stakeholders in the tax system.
Chief Elamah therefore assured of a conducive and tax friendly environment where taxpayers are expected to get value for their money.
He expressed hope that the retreat would provide new strategies that would help realize the vision and objectives of the agency, while lauding the staff for their commitment and dedication to duties.
The retreat featured interactive session, presentation of departmental reports by various departmental heads, presentations by both the Chief Registrar of Edo State High Court of Justice, Hilary Enemaku Esq. and Husstorm Technology Limited.
