The Edo State Internal Revenue Service (EIRS) has extended till Friday September, 2015, the Taxpayers Identification Number (TIN) registration exercise currently going on in the state.
To this end, prospective taxpayers have been advised to take advantage of the new deadline to register and other centres across the three senatorial districts of the state.
According to him, the essence of the exercise is geared towards having a data base of eligible taxpayers in the state.
He further stated that the TIN regulation that was signed into law by the Federal government also prescribed legal punishment for failure to register.
While lamenting that unless government places ultimatum, the people would not voluntarily comply with government’s policy, he therefore advised eligible taxpayers to take advantage of the extension to register for the TIN.
